The city of vancouver is hosting the first ever eco fashion week fronm 28th till 30th september. now, it will have runway shows,trade shows seminars n press conferences like all other fashion weeks, but the difference is its eco fashion week, which means that only designers who use sustainable designes & sustainable materials are allowed.

criteria that designers must follow : organic/natural textiles
vintage and/or recycled/reborn textiles
cruelty free [animal free] fashion
eco printing
green marketing practices
socially responsible[ like donating a portion
of sales to eco charities]
designed & constructed in your local community
custom/slow made to encourage slow fashion
instead of mass production.
eco certification.

this ought to be the grand finale of the delhi couture week.abu-sandeep dint shown their collections on ramp since last 3-4 years i guess n this was the perfect occasion to return back. the audi was jam packed. the collection was bright, glamorous, funky yet stylish, that includes kurtas with heavy works,stunning evening gowns, short dresses with heavy embroidery & savarosky work, shararas, sherwanis & long kurtas. australian pacer brett lee & shweta bachan were the show stoppers & those present at the grand includes steve waugh, shahnaz hussain, dimple & dimpy kapadia, susannne roshan, shobha de, rohit bal, vijay arora & many other celebrities.

delhi couture week day 5 : suneet verma show

It was an excellent show by suneet verma at delhi couture week day 5. At the same time, tarun tahilianis bridal show was goin on at next door dlf mall, still the audi at the grand was totally packed with the guests completely occupying even the standing rows at the back. it was an honest show with lots of hard work puttin in. the final stylish touch was given by suneet himself when he came to bow at the guests,& ran midway thru the ramp to picup the fallen pc of clothin . In all, we are at the end of couture week now n lets see what we get at the grand finale by abu jani- sandeep khosla on the sunday night.

what a fantastic show. the cloths were so practical, real, n impressive. it had all from saris, lehangas, cholis, the newly introduced long jackets, & short kurtas, achkans, chooridars n angrakhas for men too. stunning use of hand embroidery, digital printing n lazer cut work made it a truly magnificient show. the stunning clothes n the presence of show stopper kangna ranout made it simply magic. truly a master collection from the master himself.

day 2 saw the rohit bal show at the AMAN. as expected the show started past 10.30, but the guestes kept themselves busy at the well stocked bar till than, n let me tell you the show was worth every single minute of their wait. it held at the pool side with very limited guests attending. i guess it can be the show of the week as rohit mesmerized the guests with his creations, the garments,cuts, colours n the remarkable light effects.in the end some models went knee down into the pool,n rohit himself went in the water with his linen suit on, maintaining his naughty boy image intact. keep it up rohit. we love you for your style,the energy u put in, & the glamour which was missing till now.

couture week : day 1

attended both the shows on day 1. week began with sabyasachi show which started at 7:15. personally, i dint like his mens collections too much. there was nothin grand as promised by fdci. show was clearly lacking glamour. the second show by manish malhotra saw rani mukherji, vidya balan, jj valaya, rohit gandhi, n some other p3 people sitting at front row. manish presented some indo western , n stand collors blazers with different type of lowers in mens. i hope we see more creativity in coming days.....

COUTURE : haute couture actually is a highly fashionable designer creation, a complete dress, which is an exclusively custom fitted clothing. its made to order for a specific person, & its its made from high end , expensive n premium fabrics and stiched ,giving extreme attention to the detailing & finish. its not a kind of clothing you can pic from the shelves ready to wear. it belongs to elite & privileged.
