: The third edition of the Kolkata Fashion Week (KFW), scheduled to begin here next week in its new avatar as the Indian Fashion Carnival, has been postponed indefinitely.
"The event has been postponed for the time being due to certain unavoidable circumstances and operational difficulties, but we promise to return to you soon to announce the new dates for the Indian Fashion Carnival," Pratik Sen, Director Of Mindscapes One,, the organisers of the event, said in a statement on Saturday.
With a spotlight on Mahatma Gandhi and his love for traditional Indian fabric Khadi, the three-day event slated for a September 10 beginning was billed as the city's biggest fashion extravaganza.
Besides renowned Bangladeshi designer Bibi Russell the event had announced names like Zubair Kirmani, Rohit Kamra, Bhairavi Jaikishan, Riyaaz Gangjee and Soumitra Mondal.
After two back to back editions of KFW in 2009, the February season was also cancelled as a result of a feud between ramp managers of the event. [pic courtesy uwido news]
